Judgment on Assyria
24 The Lord of hosts has sworn saying, “Surely, (A)just as I have intended so it has happened, and just as I have planned so it will stand, 25 to (B)break Assyria in My land, and I will trample him on My mountains. Then his (C)yoke will be removed from them and his burden removed from their shoulder. 26 This is the (D)plan [a]devised against the whole earth; and this is the (E)hand that is stretched out against all the nations. 27 For (F)the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back?”

Zephaniah 2:13-15
New American Standard Bible 1995
13 And He will (A)stretch out His hand against the north
And destroy (B)Assyria,
And He will make (C)Nineveh a desolation,
Parched like the wilderness.
14 Flocks will lie down in her midst,
[a]All beasts which range in herds;
Both the [b](D)pelican and the hedgehog
Will lodge in [c]the tops of her pillars;
[d]Birds will sing in the window,
Desolation will be on the threshold;
For He has laid bare the cedar work.
15 This is the (E)exultant city
Which (F)dwells securely,
Who says in her heart,
“(G)I am, and there is no one besides me.”
How she has become a (H)desolation,
A resting place for beasts!
(I)Everyone who passes by her will hiss
And wave his hand in contempt.
