²⁵ For he must reign^(A) until he has put all his enemies under his feet.^{(B) 26} The last enemy to be destroyed is death.^{(C) 27} For he “has put everything under his feet.”^[a](D) Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.^{(E) 28} When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him,^(F) so that God may be all in all.^(G)

In putting everything under them,^[c] God left nothing that is not subject to them.^[d] Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them.^[e]

⁹ But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor^(A) because he suffered death,^(B) so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.^(C)
