²⁵ On no day will its gates^(A) ever be shut,^(B) for there will be no night there.^{(C) 26} The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.^(D)

¹⁷ At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne^(A) of the Lord, and all nations^(B) will gather in Jerusalem to honor^(C) the name of the Lord. No longer will they follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts.^(D)

³⁸ “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when this city will be rebuilt^(A) for me from the Tower of Hananel^(B) to the Corner Gate.^{(C) 39} The measuring line^(D) will stretch from there straight to the hill of Gareb and then turn to Goah. ⁴⁰ The whole valley^(E) where dead bodies^(F) and ashes are thrown, and all the terraces out to the Kidron Valley^(G) on the east as far as the corner of the Horse Gate,^(H) will be holy^(I) to the Lord. The city will never again be uprooted or demolished.”

The Gates of the New City

³⁰ “These will be the exits of the city: Beginning on the north side, which is 4,500 cubits long, ³¹ the gates of the city will be named after the tribes of Israel. The three gates on the north side will be the gate of Reuben, the gate of Judah and the gate of Levi.

³² “On the east side, which is 4,500 cubits long, will be three gates: the gate of Joseph, the gate of Benjamin and the gate of Dan.

³³ “On the south side, which measures 4,500 cubits, will be three gates: the gate of Simeon, the gate of Issachar and the gate of Zebulun.

³⁴ “On the west side, which is 4,500 cubits long, will be three gates: the gate of Gad, the gate of Asher and the gate of Naphtali.^(A)

³⁵ “The distance all around will be 18,000 cubits.^[a]

“And the name of the city from that time on will be:

⁴ and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls^(A) because of the great number^(B) of people and animals in it.^{(C) 5} And I myself will be a wall^(D) of fire^(E) around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory^(F) within.’^(G)

¹⁰ The whole land, from Geba^(A) to Rimmon,^(B) south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up^(C) high from the Benjamin Gate^(D) to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate,^(E) and from the Tower of Hananel^(F) to the royal winepresses, and will remain in its place.^(G)
