⁷ Of the greatness of his government^(A) and peace^(B)
    there will be no end.^(C)
He will reign^(D) on David’s throne
    and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice^(E) and righteousness^(F)
    from that time on and forever.^(G)
The zeal^(H) of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this.

²⁰ Look on Zion,^(A) the city of our festivals;
    your eyes will see Jerusalem,
    a peaceful abode,^(B) a tent^(C) that will not be moved;^(D)
its stakes will never be pulled up,
    nor any of its ropes broken.
²¹ There the Lord will be our Mighty^(E) One.
    It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams.^(F)
No galley with oars will ride them,
    no mighty ship^(G) will sail them.

¹⁵ “Although you have been forsaken^(A) and hated,
    with no one traveling^(B) through,
I will make you the everlasting pride^(C)
    and the joy^(D) of all generations.

¹⁹ But Egypt^(A) will be desolate,
    Edom^(B) a desert waste,
because of violence^(C) done to the people of Judah,
    in whose land they shed innocent blood.
²⁰ Judah will be inhabited forever^(D)
    and Jerusalem through all generations.
²¹ Shall I leave their innocent blood unavenged?^(E)
    No, I will not.^(F)”
