¹⁴ “‘A foreigner^(A) residing among you is also to celebrate the Lord’s Passover in accordance with its rules and regulations. You must have the same regulations for both the foreigner and the native-born.’”

¹⁵ Yet the Lord set his affection on your ancestors and loved^(A) them, and he chose you,^(B) their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today.^{(C) 16} Circumcise^(D) your hearts,^(E) therefore, and do not be stiff-necked^(F) any longer. ¹⁷ For the Lord your God is God of gods^(G) and Lord of lords,^(H) the great God, mighty and awesome,^(I) who shows no partiality^(J) and accepts no bribes.^{(K) 18} He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow,^(L) and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.^{(M) 19} And you are to love^(N) those who are foreigners,^(O) for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.^(P)

²¹ So the Israelites who had returned from the exile ate it, together with all who had separated themselves^(A) from the unclean practices^(B) of their Gentile neighbors in order to seek the Lord,^(C) the God of Israel.

¹⁴ This is what the Lord says: “As for all my wicked neighbors who seize the inheritance^(A) I gave my people Israel, I will uproot^(B) them from their lands and I will uproot^(C) the people of Judah from among them. ¹⁵ But after I uproot them, I will again have compassion^(D) and will bring^(E) each of them back to their own inheritance and their own country. ¹⁶ And if they learn^(F) well the ways of my people and swear by my name, saying, ‘As surely as the Lord lives’^(G)—even as they once taught my people to swear by Baal^(H)—then they will be established among my people.^{(I) 17} But if any nation does not listen, I will completely uproot and destroy^(J) it,” declares the Lord.

²¹ “You are to distribute this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. ²² You are to allot it as an inheritance^(A) for yourselves and for the foreigners^(B) residing among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel.^{(C) 23} In whatever tribe a foreigner resides, there you are to give them their inheritance,” declares the Sovereign Lord.^(D)
