² I am certainly more ^(A)stupid than any man,
And I do not have the understanding of a man;
³ Nor have I learned wisdom,
Nor do I have the ^(B)knowledge of the Holy One.
⁴ Who has ^(C)ascended into heaven and descended?
Who has gathered the ^(D)wind in His fists?
Who has ^(E)wrapped the waters in ^[a]His garment?
Who has ^(F)established all the ends of the earth?
What is His ^(G)name or His ^[b]Son’s name?
Surely you know!

⁶ For a ^(A)Child will be born to us, a ^(B)Son will be given to us;
And the ^(C)government will ^[a]rest ^(D)on His shoulders;
And His name will be called ^(E)Wonderful Counselor, ^(F)Mighty God,
Eternal ^(G)Father, Prince of ^(H)Peace.

⁷ There will be ^(A)no end to the increase of His government or of peace
On the ^(B)throne of David and over ^[a]his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with ^(C)justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
^(D)The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.

53 ^(A)Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
² For He grew up before Him like a ^(B)tender ^[a]shoot,
And like a root out of dry ground;
He has ^(C)no stately form or majesty
That we would look at Him,
Nor an appearance that we would take pleasure in Him.
³ He was ^(D)despised and abandoned by men,
A man of ^[b]great pain and ^(E)familiar with sickness;
And like one from whom people hide their faces,
He was ^(F)despised, and we had no ^(G)regard for Him.

⁶ For all of us have become like one who is ^(A)unclean,
And all our ^(B)righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;
And all of us ^(C)wither like a leaf,
And our ^(D)wrongdoings, like the wind, take us away.

⁷ There is ^(A)no one who calls on Your name,
Who stirs himself to take hold of You;
For You have ^(B)hidden Your face from us
And have ^[a]surrendered us to the power of our wrongdoings.
