²³ for all ^[a](A)have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ being justified as a gift ^(B)by His grace through ^(C)the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ whom God displayed publicly as ^(D)a ^[b]propitiation ^[c](E)in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, ^[d]because in God’s merciful ^(F)restraint He ^(G)let the sins previously committed go unpunished; ²⁶ for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who ^[e]has faith in Jesus.

²² But now having been ^(A)freed from sin and ^(B)enslaved to God, you ^[a]derive your ^[b](C)benefit, ^[c]resulting in sanctification, and ^(D)the outcome, eternal life.

²³ For the wages of ^(A)sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is ^(B)eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁸ For ^(A)by grace you have been saved ^(B)through faith; and ^[a]this is not of yourselves, it is ^(C)the gift of God; ^9 (D)not a result of works, so that ^(E)no one may boast. ¹⁰ For we are His workmanship, ^(F)created in ^(G)Christ Jesus for ^(H)good works, which God ^(I)prepared beforehand so that we would ^(J)walk in them.

^3 (A)For we too were once foolish, ^(B)disobedient, ^(C)deceived, ^(D)enslaved to ^(E)various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in ^(F)malice and ^(G)envy, hateful, hating one another. ⁴ But when the ^(H)kindness of ^(I)God our Savior and His love for mankind ^(J)appeared, ^5 (K)He saved us, ^(L)not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but ^(M)in accordance with His mercy, by the ^(N)washing of regeneration and ^(O)renewing by the Holy Spirit, ^6 (P)whom He ^(Q)richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that being justified by His grace we would be made ^(R)heirs ^[a]according to the hope of eternal life.
