⁹ When he heard them say about Tirhakah king of ^[a]Cush, “Behold, he has come out to fight you,” he sent messengers again to Hezekiah, saying,

1 Now it happened in the days of ^(A)Ahasuerus, the Ahasuerus who reigned ^(B)from India to ^[a]Cush over ^(C)127 provinces,

¹⁰ therefore, behold, I am ^(A)against you and against your ^[a]canals, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from Migdol to Syene and as far as the border of ^[b]Cush.
