⁴³ I beat them as fine as the dust^(A) of the earth;
    I pounded and trampled^(B) them like mud^(C) in the streets.

¹⁴ They are like sheep and are destined^(A) to die;^(B)
    death will be their shepherd
    (but the upright will prevail^(C) over them in the morning).
Their forms will decay in the grave,
    far from their princely mansions.

³ He subdued^(A) nations under us,
    peoples under our feet.

⁵ Together they^[a] will be like warriors in battle
    trampling their enemy into the mud of the streets.^(A)
They will fight because the Lord is with them,
    and they will put the enemy horsemen to shame.^(B)
