“May the God before whom my fathers
    Abraham and Isaac walked faithfully,^(B)
the God who has been my shepherd^(C)
    all my life to this day,

⁴ One thing^(A) I ask from the Lord,
    this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,^(B)
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
    and to seek him in his temple.

⁹ For with you is the fountain of life;^(A)
    in your light^(B) we see light.

² I have seen you in the sanctuary^(A)
    and beheld your power and your glory.^(B)

¹¹ I said, “I will not again see the Lord himself^(A)
    in the land of the living;^(B)
no longer will I look on my fellow man,
    or be with those who now dwell in this world.
