^37 (A)All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and ^(B)the one who comes to Me I will ^[a]by no means cast out. ³⁸ For I have come down from heaven, ^(C)not to do My own will, ^(D)but the will of Him who sent Me. ³⁹ This is the will of the Father who sent Me, ^(E)that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

^27 (A)My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. ²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. ^29 (B)My Father, ^(C)who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. ^30 (D)I and My Father are one.”

⁹ “I pray for them. ^(A)I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. ¹⁰ And all Mine are Yours, and ^(B)Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. ^11 (C)Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, ^(D)keep^[a] through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one ^(E)as We are. ¹² While I was with them ^[b]in the world, ^(F)I kept them in ^[c]Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and ^(G)none of them is ^[d]lost ^(H)except the son of ^[e]perdition, ^(I)that the Scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. ¹⁴ I have given them Your word; ^(J)and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, ^(K)just as I am not of the world. ¹⁵ I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but ^(L)that You should keep them from the evil one. ¹⁶ They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. ^17 (M)Sanctify^[f] them by Your truth. ^(N)Your word is truth. ^18 (O)As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. ¹⁹ And ^(P)for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

⁹ that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, ^(A)“Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”

God’s Everlasting Love

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? ^(A)If God is for us, who can be against us? ^32 (B)He who did not spare His own Son, but ^(C)delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? ^(D)It is God who justifies. ^34 (E)Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, ^(F)who is even at the right hand of God, ^(G)who also makes intercession for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written:

^37 (I)Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor ^(J)principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, ³⁹ nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁷ Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to ^(A)the heirs of promise ^(B)the ^[a]immutability of His counsel, ^[b]confirmed it by an oath, ¹⁸ that by two ^[c]immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to ^(C)lie, we ^[d]might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope ^(D)set before us.

¹⁹ This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, ^(E)and which enters the Presence behind the veil, ^20 (F)where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, ^(G)having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

¹³ These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, ^[a]and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Confidence and Compassion in Prayer

¹⁴ Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that ^(A)if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
