Job 30:9-15

New International Version

⁹ “And now those young men mock me^(A) in song;^(B)
    I have become a byword^(C) among them.
¹⁰ They detest me^(D) and keep their distance;
    they do not hesitate to spit in my face.^(E)
11 Now that God has unstrung my bow^(F) and afflicted me,^(G)
    they throw off restraint^(H) in my presence.
¹² On my right^(I) the tribe^[a] attacks;
    they lay snares^(J) for my feet,^(K)
    they build their siege ramps against me.^(L)
13 They break up my road;^(M)
    they succeed in destroying me.^(N)
    ‘No one can help him,’ they say.
¹⁴ They advance as through a gaping breach;^(O)
    amid the ruins they come rolling in.
¹⁵ Terrors^(P) overwhelm me;^(Q)
    my dignity is driven away as by the wind,
    my safety vanishes like a cloud.^(R)
