    If your sins are many, what does that do to him?^(A)

⁸ Your wickedness only affects humans like yourself,^(A)
    and your righteousness only other people.^(B)

² I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;^(A)

³ I say of the holy people^(A) who are in the land,^(B)
    “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”

¹² If I were hungry I would not tell you,
    for the world^(A) is mine, and all that is in it.^(B)
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls
    or drink the blood of goats?

¹⁴ “Sacrifice thank offerings^(C) to God,
    fulfill your vows^(D) to the Most High,^(E)

¹⁴ Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten him,
    and who taught him the right way?
Who was it that taught him knowledge,^(A)
    or showed him the path of understanding?^(B)

¹⁵ Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket;
    they are regarded as dust on the scales;^(C)
    he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.^(D)
16 Lebanon^(E) is not sufficient for altar fires,
    nor its animals^(F) enough for burnt offerings.
¹⁷ Before him all the nations^(G) are as nothing;^(H)
    they are regarded by him as worthless
    and less than nothing.^(I)

¹⁸ With whom, then, will you compare God?^(J)
    To what image^(K) will you liken him?
