⁶ “‘Throughout the period of their dedication to the Lord, the Nazirite must not go near a dead body.^(A)

⁶ But some of them could not celebrate the Passover on that day because they were ceremonially unclean^(A) on account of a dead body.^(B) So they came to Moses and Aaron^(C) that same day

¹⁰ “Tell the Israelites: ‘When any of you or your descendants are unclean because of a dead body^(A) or are away on a journey, they are still to celebrate^(B) the Lord’s Passover,

¹³ If they fail to purify themselves after touching a human corpse,^(A) they defile the Lord’s tabernacle.^(B) They must be cut off from Israel.^(C) Because the water of cleansing has not been sprinkled on them, they are unclean;^(D) their uncleanness remains on them.

¹³ Then Haggai said, “If a person defiled by contact with a dead body touches one of these things, does it become defiled?”

“Yes,” the priests replied, “it becomes defiled.^(A)”
