⁶ “Surely everyone goes around^(A) like a mere phantom;^(B)
    in vain they rush about,^(C) heaping up wealth^(D)
    without knowing whose it will finally be.^(E)

¹⁶ Do not be overawed when others grow rich,
    when the splendor of their houses increases;

¹⁷ for they will take nothing^(A) with them when they die,
    their splendor will not descend with them.^(B)

²³ But you, God, will bring down the wicked
    into the pit^(A) of decay;
the bloodthirsty and deceitful^(B)
    will not live out half their days.^(C)

But as for me, I trust in you.^(D)
