The Thirsting Soul Satisfied in God.

A Psalm of David, [a]when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

63 God, (A)You are my God; I shall be watching for You;
My soul (B)thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You,
In a (C)dry and exhausted land where there is no water.
So have I (D)seen You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and glory.
Because Your [b](E)favor is better than life,
My lips will praise You.
So I will bless You (F)as long as I live;
I will (G)lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul is (H)satisfied as with fat and fatness,
And my mouth offers (I)praises with joyful lips.

When I remember You (J)on my bed,
I meditate on You in the (K)night watches,
For (L)You have been my help,
And in the (M)shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
My soul (N)clings [c]to You;
Your (O)right hand takes hold of me.

But those who (P)seek my [d]life to destroy it,
Will go into the [e](Q)depths of the earth.
10 [f]They will be [g](R)turned over to the power of the sword;
They will be a [h](S)prey for foxes.
11 But the (T)king will rejoice in God;
Everyone who (U)swears by Him will boast,
For the (V)mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.

This is what the Lord [a]God says:

“Now I will (A)spread My net over you
With a contingent of many peoples,
And they will lift you up in My net.
I will leave you on the land;
I will hurl you on the [b]open field.
And I will cause all the (B)birds of the sky to [c]nest on you,
And I will satisfy the animals of the whole earth [d]with you.
I will lay your flesh (C)on the mountains
And fill the valleys with your refuse.
I will also make the land drink the discharge of your (D)blood
As far as the mountains,
And the ravines will be full of you.
And when I (E)extinguish you,
I will (F)cover the heavens and darken their (G)stars;
I will cover the (H)sun with a cloud
And the moon will not give its light.
All the shining (I)lights in the heavens
I will darken over you
And will set darkness on your land,”
Declares the Lord God.

“I will also (J)trouble the hearts of many peoples when I (K)bring your destruction among the nations, into lands which you have not known. 10 And I will make many peoples (L)appalled at you, and their kings will be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and (M)they will tremble again and again, every person for his own life, on the day of your fall.”

11 For (N)the Lord God says (O)this: “The sword of the king of Babylon will [e]attack you. 12 By the swords of the warriors I will make your multitude fall; all of them are (P)tyrants of the nations,

And they will (Q)devastate the pride of Egypt,
And all its multitude will be destroyed.
13 I will also eliminate all its cattle from beside many waters;
And (R)a human foot will not muddy them anymore,
And the hoofs of animals will not muddy them.
14 Then I will make their waters settle,
And make their rivers run like oil,”
Declares the Lord God.
15 “When I make the land of Egypt a (S)desolation,
And the land is destitute of that which filled it,
When I strike all those who live in it,
Then they shall (T)know that I am the Lord.

16 This is a (U)song of mourning, and they shall sing it. The daughters of the nations shall sing it. Over Egypt and over all her hordes they shall sing it,” declares the Lord God.
