²¹ For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.^{(A) 22} Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools^{(B) 23} and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images^(C) made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

²⁴ Therefore God gave them over^(D) in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.^{(E) 25} They exchanged the truth about God for a lie,^(F) and worshiped and served created things^(G) rather than the Creator—who is forever praised.^(H) Amen.^(I)

²⁶ Because of this, God gave them over^(J) to shameful lusts.^(K) Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.^{(L) 27} In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.^(M)

⁹ Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?^(A) Do not be deceived:^(B) Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers^(C) nor men who have sex with men^[a](D)

⁸ We know that the law is good^(A) if one uses it properly. ⁹ We also know that the law is made not for the righteous^(B) but for lawbreakers and rebels,^(C) the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, ¹⁰ for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine^(D)
