¹⁰ “‘Because they lead my people astray,^(A) saying, “Peace,”^(B) when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash,^(C)

¹⁶ those prophets of Israel who prophesied to Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her when there was no peace, declares the Sovereign Lord.^(A)”’

²⁵ “‘I will make a covenant^(A) of peace^(B) with them and rid the land of savage beasts^(C) so that they may live in the wilderness and sleep in the forests in safety.^(D)

²⁶ I will make a covenant of peace^(A) with them; it will be an everlasting covenant.^(B) I will establish them and increase their numbers,^(C) and I will put my sanctuary among them^(D) forever.^(E)

¹⁹ “Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed,”^(A) he said. “Peace!^(B) Be strong now; be strong.”^(C)

When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.”^(D)
