⁷ Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’^[a]”^(A)

¹⁰ Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan!^(A) For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’^[a]”^(B)

³⁷ Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’^[a](A)

²⁹ “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.^[a]

³⁰ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’^[a](A)

¹⁶ He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God.

³² He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.^(A) The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,^(B)
