  1. Why did you flee secretly and trick me, and did not tell me, so that I might have sent you away with mirth and songs, with tambourine and lyre?
  2. The Song of Moses

    Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord, saying, “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.
  3. The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.

  8. So Moses wrote this song the same day and taught it to the people of Israel.

    Then Moses spoke the words of this song until they were finished, in the ears of all the assembly of Israel:
  10. Moses came and recited all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun.

  19. And David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, with song and lyres and harps and tambourines and cymbals and trumpets.
  20. David's Song of Thanks

    Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!
  21. Heman and Jeduthun had trumpets and cymbals for the music and instruments for sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were appointed to the gate.

  23. Then Hezekiah commanded that the burnt offering be offered on the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song to the Lord began also, and the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel.
  24. And the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who with his brothers was in charge of the songs of thanksgiving.
  25. For long ago in the days of David and Asaph there were directors of the singers, and there were songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
