  1. Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
  2. But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.
  3. But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?”

  8. And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
  9. Scripture Must Be Fulfilled in Jesus

    And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no moneybag or knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
  10. For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in me: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about me has its fulfillment.”
  11. And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
