  1. So the Lord said to him, “Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.”
  2. “‘If the offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, you are to offer a dove or a young pigeon.
  3. “‘Anyone who cannot afford a lamb is to bring two doves or two young pigeons to the Lord as a penalty for their sin—one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.

  7. But if she cannot afford a lamb, she is to bring two doves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her, and she will be clean.’”

  19. Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding.
  20. The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
  21. He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.
  22. Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men.

  24. The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.”
  25. He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.
