  1. ‘But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.
  2. That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.
  3. Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire – with the head, legs and internal organs.

  9. ‘You are to be my holy people. So do not eat the meat of an animal torn by wild beasts; throw it to the dogs.
  10. Make all its utensils of bronze – its pots to remove the ashes, and its shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks and firepans.
  11. ‘Take the ram for the ordination and cook the meat in a sacred place.
  12. At the entrance to the tent of meeting, Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that is in the basket.
  13. And if any of the meat of the ordination ram or any bread is left over till morning, burn it up. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.
  14. They made all its utensils of bronze – its pots, shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks and firepans.
  15. The clay pot that the meat is cooked in must be broken; but if it is cooked in a bronze pot, the pot is to be scoured and rinsed with water.
  16. The meat of their fellowship offering of thanksgiving must be eaten on the day it is offered; they must leave none of it till morning.
  17. Any meat of the sacrifice left over till the third day must be burned.
  18. If any meat of the fellowship offering is eaten on the third day, the one who offered it will not be accepted. It will not be reckoned to their credit, for it has become impure; the person who eats any of it will be held responsible.
  19. ‘“Meat that touches anything ceremonially unclean must not be eaten; it must be burned. As for other meat, anyone ceremonially clean may eat it.
  20. But if anyone who is unclean eats any meat of the fellowship offering belonging to the Lord, they must be cut off from their people.
  21. Anyone who touches something unclean – whether human uncleanness or an unclean animal or any unclean creature that moves along the ground – and then eats any of the meat of the fellowship offering belonging to the Lord must be cut off from their people.”’
  22. Moses then said to Aaron and his sons, ‘Cook the meat at the entrance to the tent of meeting and eat it there with the bread from the basket of ordination offerings, as I was commanded: “Aaron and his sons are to eat it.”
  23. Then burn the rest of the meat and the bread.
  24. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.
  25. And since you are to regard them as unclean, you must not eat their meat; you must regard their carcasses as unclean.
