³ The Lord said to Satan, “Have you ^[a]considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man ^[b]fearing God and turning away from evil. And he still ^(A)holds firm to his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ^[c]ruin him without cause.”

^3 (A)Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our ^(B)common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you ^(C)contend earnestly for ^(D)the faith that was once for all time ^(E)handed down to ^(F)the ^[a]saints. ⁴ For certain people have ^(G)crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand ^[b](H)marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn ^(I)the grace of our God into ^(J)indecent behavior and ^(K)deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ But ^(A)these people disparage all the things that they do not understand; and ^(B)all the things that they know by instinct, ^(C)like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. ¹¹ Woe to them! For they have gone ^(D)the way of Cain, and for pay ^[a]they have given themselves up to ^(E)the error of Balaam, and ^(F)perished in the rebellion of Korah.

Korah’s Rebellion

16 Now ^(A)Korah the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with ^(B)Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men, ² and they stood before Moses, ^[a]together with some of the sons of Israel, 250 leaders of the congregation ^[b](C)chosen in the assembly, men of renown. ³ They assembled together ^(D)against Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “^[c](E)You have gone far enough! For all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and ^(F)the Lord is in their midst; so why do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”

⁴ When Moses heard this, ^(G)he fell on his face; ⁵ and he spoke to Korah and all his group, saying, “Tomorrow morning the Lord will make known who is His, and ^(H)who is holy, and will bring that one near to Himself; indeed, ^(I)the one whom He will choose, He will bring near to Himself.

²¹ “^(A)Separate yourselves from among this congregation, ^(B)so that I may consume them instantly.” ²² But they fell on their faces and said, “God, ^(C)the God of the spirits of ^[a]humanity, ^(D)when one person sins, will You be angry with the entire congregation?”

²³ Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ²⁴ “Speak to the congregation, saying, ‘^(E)Get away from the areas around the ^[b]tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.’”

Murmuring and Plague

⁴¹ But on the next day all the congregation of the sons of Israel ^(A)grumbled against Moses and Aaron, saying, “You are the ones who have caused the death of the Lord’s people!”

^18 [a]With every ^(A)prayer and request, ^[b](B)pray at all times ^(C)in the Spirit, and with this in view, ^[c](D)be alert with all ^(E)perseverance and every ^(F)request for all the ^[d]saints,

²⁰ But you, ^(A)beloved, ^(B)building yourselves up on your most holy ^(C)faith, ^(D)praying in the Holy Spirit,
