⁴ Yet it was a concern because of the ^(A)false brothers secretly brought in, who ^(B)had sneaked in to spy on our ^(C)freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to ^(D)enslave us.

² Beware of the ^(A)dogs, beware of the ^(B)evil workers, beware of the ^[a]false circumcision; ³ for ^(C)we are the true ^[b]circumcision, who ^(D)worship in the Spirit of God and take ^(E)pride in ^(F)Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh,

^8 (A)See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through ^(B)philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the ^(C)elementary principles of the world, ^[a]rather than in accordance with Christ.

The Appearance of False Prophets

2 But ^(A)false prophets also appeared among the people, just as there will also be ^(B)false teachers ^(C)among you, who will ^(D)secretly introduce ^(E)destructive heresies, even ^(F)denying the ^(G)Master who ^(H)bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. ² Many will follow their ^(I)indecent behavior, and because of them ^(J)the way of the truth will be ^(K)maligned;

^19 (A)They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, ^(B)so that ^[a]it would be evident that they all are not of us.

⁷ For ^(A)many deceivers have ^(B)gone out into the world, those who ^(C)do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is ^(D)the deceiver and the ^(E)antichrist. ^8 (F)Watch yourselves, ^(G)that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. ^9 [a]Anyone who ^[b]goes too far and ^(H)does not remain in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who remains in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, ^(I)do not receive him into your house, and do not ^[c]give him a greeting;

¹⁹ These are the ones who cause divisions, ^[a](A)worldly-minded, ^[b]devoid of the Spirit.
