⁹ Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be ^(A)pleasing to Him.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before ^(A)the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive compensation for ^[a]his deeds done through the body, in accordance with what he has done, whether good or bad.

¹¹ For the grace of God has ^(A)appeared, ^[a](B)bringing salvation to all people, ^12 [b]instructing us to deny ungodliness and ^(C)worldly desires and ^(D)to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner ^(E)in the present age, ¹³ looking for the blessed hope and the ^(F)appearing of the glory of ^[c](G)our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

²⁴ and let’s consider how ^(A)to ^[a]encourage one another in love and ^(B)good deeds,

²⁵ not abandoning our own ^(A)meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but ^(B)encouraging one another; and all the more as you see ^(C)the day drawing near.

Exhortation

⁷ Therefore be patient, ^(A)brothers and sisters, ^(B)until the coming of the Lord. ^(C)The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until ^[a]it gets ^(D)the early and late rains.

^8 (A)You too be patient; ^(B)strengthen your hearts, for ^(C)the coming of the Lord is ^(D)near.

^7 (A)The end of all things ^[a]is near; therefore, ^(B)be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of ^[b]prayer. ⁸ Above all, ^(C)keep fervent in your love for one another, because ^(D)love covers a multitude of sins. ^9 (E)Be hospitable to one another without ^(F)complaint. ^10 (G)As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good ^(H)stewards of the ^[c]multifaceted grace of God. ^11 (I)Whoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking ^(J)actual words of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving ^[d](K)by the strength which God supplies; so that ^(L)in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, ^(M)to whom belongs the glory and ^[e]dominion forever and ever. Amen.

¹¹ Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, ^12 (A)looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which ^(B)the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the ^(C)elements will melt with intense heat! ¹³ But according to His ^(D)promise we are looking for ^(E)new heavens and a new earth, ^(F)in which righteousness dwells.

^14 (G)Therefore, ^(H)beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be ^(I)found ^(J)spotless and blameless by Him, at peace,
