⁹ Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be ^(A)pleasing to Him. ¹⁰ For we must all appear before ^(B)the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive compensation for ^[a]his deeds done through the body, in accordance with what he has done, whether good or bad.

¹⁰ But as for you, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or you as well, why do you ^(A)regard your brother or sister with contempt? For ^(B)we will all appear before the judgment seat of God. ¹¹ For it is written:

¹² So then ^(E)each one of us will give an account of himself to God.

⁴² And He ^(A)ordered us to ^[a]preach to the people, and to ^(B)testify solemnly that this is the One who has been ^(C)appointed by God as ^(D)Judge of the living and the dead.

¹² “Behold, ^(A)I am coming quickly, and My ^(B)reward is with Me, ^(C)to reward each one as his work ^[a]deserves.

⁵ But ^[a]because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart ^(A)you are storing up wrath for yourself ^(B)on the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, ^6 (C)who will repay each person according to his deeds: ⁷ to those who by ^(D)perseverance in doing good seek ^(E)glory, honor, and ^(F)immortality, He will give ^(G)eternal life; ⁸ but to those who are ^(H)self-serving and ^(I)do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, He will give wrath and indignation. ⁹ There will be ^(J)tribulation and distress ^[b]for every soul of mankind who does evil, ^[c]for the Jew ^(K)first and also ^[d]for the Greek, ¹⁰ but ^(L)glory, honor, and peace to everyone who does what is good, to the Jew ^(M)first and also to the Greek.

⁵ Therefore ^(A)do not go on ^[a]passing judgment before ^[b]the time, but wait ^(B)until the Lord comes, who will both ^(C)bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of human hearts; and then ^(D)praise will come to each person from God.

^7 (A)Do not be deceived, ^(B)God is not mocked; for ^(C)whatever a person sows, this he will also reap.

^8 (A)For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap ^(B)destruction from the flesh, but ^(C)the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
