^15 (A)Now as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, one for each of the four of them.^{[a] 16 (B)}As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like ^(C)the gleaming of beryl. ^(D)And the four had the same likeness, their appearance and construction being as it were a wheel within a wheel. ^17 (E)When they went, they went ^(F)in any of their four directions^{[b] (G)}without turning as they went. ¹⁸ And their rims were tall and awesome, ^(H)and the rims of all four were full of eyes all around. ^19 (I)And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; ^(J)and when the living creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose. ^20 (K)Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, and the wheels rose along with them, ^(L)for the spirit of the living creatures^[c] was in the wheels. ^21 (M)When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; ^(N)and when those rose from the earth, the wheels rose along with them, ^(O)for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.

^9 (A)And I looked, and behold, there were four wheels beside the cherubim, one beside each cherub, and ^(B)the appearance of the wheels was ^(C)like sparkling ^(D)beryl. ¹⁰ And as for their appearance, the four had the same likeness, as if a wheel were within a wheel. ^11 (E)When they went, they went in any of their four directions^{[a] (F)}without turning as they went, ^(G)but in whatever direction the front wheel^[b] faced, the others followed without turning as they went. ^12 (H)And their whole body, their rims, and their spokes, their wings,^[c] and the wheels were full of eyes all around—the wheels that the four of them had. ¹³ As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing ^(I)“the whirling wheels.” ^14 (J)And every one had four faces: ^(K)the first face was the face of the cherub, and the second face was ^(L)a human face, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
