    praise him in the heights above.

    praise him, all his heavenly hosts.^(D)
3 Praise him, sun^(E) and moon;
    praise him, all you shining stars.
⁴ Praise him, you highest heavens^(F)
    and you waters above the skies.^(G)

⁵ Let them praise the name^(H) of the Lord,
    for at his command^(I) they were created,
⁶ and he established them for ever and ever—
    he issued a decree^(J) that will never pass away.

⁷ Praise the Lord^(K) from the earth,
    you great sea creatures^(L) and all ocean depths,^(M)
8 lightning and hail,^(N) snow and clouds,
    stormy winds that do his bidding,^(O)
9 you mountains and all hills,^(P)
    fruit trees and all cedars,
¹⁰ wild animals^(Q) and all cattle,
    small creatures and flying birds,
¹¹ kings^(R) of the earth and all nations,
    you princes and all rulers on earth,
¹² young men and women,
    old men and children.

¹³ Let them praise the name of the Lord,^(S)
    for his name alone is exalted;
    his splendor^(T) is above the earth and the heavens.^(U)

³ I get my knowledge from afar;^(A)
    I will ascribe justice to my Maker.^(B)

⁴ Be assured that my words are not false;^(A)
    one who has perfect knowledge^(B) is with you.^(C)

²⁶ How great is God—beyond our understanding!^(A)
    The number of his years is past finding out.^(B)

¹⁶ Do you know how the clouds hang poised,^(A)
    those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge?^(B)

²³ The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power;^(A)
    in his justice^(B) and great righteousness, he does not oppress.^(C)

²⁴ Therefore, people revere him,^(A)
    for does he not have regard for all the wise^(B) in heart?^[a]”

³ Great^(C) is the Lord and most worthy of praise;^(D)
    his greatness no one can fathom.^(E)
4 One generation^(F) commends your works to another;
    they tell^(G) of your mighty acts.^(H)
5 They speak of the glorious splendor^(I) of your majesty—
    and I will meditate on your wonderful works.^[a](J)
6 They tell^(K) of the power of your awesome works—^(L)
    and I will proclaim^(M) your great deeds.^(N)
7 They celebrate your abundant goodness^(O)
    and joyfully sing^(P) of your righteousness.^(Q)

⁸ The Lord is gracious and compassionate,^(R)
    slow to anger and rich in love.^(S)

⁹ The Lord is good^(T) to all;
    he has compassion^(U) on all he has made.
¹⁰ All your works praise you,^(V) Lord;
    your faithful people extol^(W) you.^(X)

²¹ My mouth will speak^(A) in praise of the Lord.
    Let every creature^(B) praise his holy name^(C)
    for ever and ever.
