Zechariah 9:8-17

New American Standard Bible

⁸ But I will camp around My house ^[a]because of an army,
Because of ^(A)him who passes by and returns;
And ^(B)no oppressor will pass over them anymore,
For now I have seen with My eyes.
^9 (C)Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion!
Shout in triumph, daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your ^(D)king is coming to you;
He is ^[b](E)righteous and ^(F)endowed with salvation,
^(G)Humble, and mounted on a donkey,
Even on a ^(H)colt, the ^[c]foal of a donkey.
¹⁰ And I will ^(I)eliminate the chariot from Ephraim
And the ^(J)horse from Jerusalem;
And the ^(K)bow of war will be eliminated.
And He will speak ^(L)peace to the nations;
And His ^(M)dominion will be from sea to sea,
And from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth.

¹¹ As for you also, because of the ^(N)blood of My covenant with you,
I have set your ^(O)prisoners free from the ^[d]waterless pit.
¹² Return to the ^[e](P)stronghold, you prisoners ^[f]who have the ^(Q)hope;
This very day I am declaring that I will restore ^(R)double to you.
¹³ For I will ^(S)bend Judah ^[g]as My bow,
I will fill the bow with Ephraim.
And I will stir up your sons, Zion, against your sons, ^(T)Greece;
And I will make you like a ^(U)warrior’s sword.
¹⁴ Then the Lord will appear ^(V)over them,
And His ^(W)arrow will go forth like lightning;
And the Lord ^[h]God will blow the ^(X)trumpet,
And march in the ^(Y)storm winds of the south.
^15 (Z)The Lord of armies will protect them.
And they will ^(AA)devour and trample on the ^(AB)slingstones;
And they will drink and be ^(AC)boisterous as with wine;
And they will be filled like a sacrificial basin,
Drenched like the ^(AD)corners of the altar.
¹⁶ And the Lord their God will ^(AE)save them on that day
As the flock of His people;
For they are like the precious stones of a ^(AF)crown,
Sparkling on His land.
¹⁷ For how great will ^[i]their ^(AG)loveliness and ^(AH)beauty be!
Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine, the virgins.
