¹⁷ And they clothed him in ^(A)a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him. ¹⁸ And they began to salute him, ^(B)“Hail, King of the Jews!” ¹⁹ And they were striking his head with a reed and ^(C)spitting on him and ^(D)kneeling down in homage to him. ²⁰ And when they had ^(E)mocked him, they stripped him of ^(F)the purple cloak and put his own clothes on him. And they ^(G)led him out to crucify him.

²⁸ And they stripped him and put ^(A)a scarlet robe on him, ²⁹ and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they ^(B)mocked him, saying, “Hail, ^(C)King of the Jews!” ³⁰ And ^(D)they spit on him and took the reed and struck him on the head. ³¹ And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe and put his own clothes on him and ^(E)led him away to crucify him.
