Daniel 8:23-25
New American Standard Bible 1995
23 “In the latter period of their [a]rule,
When the transgressors have [b]run their course,
A king will arise,
[c]Insolent and skilled in [d]intrigue.
24 “His power will be mighty, but not by his own power,
And he will [e](A)destroy to an extraordinary degree
And prosper and perform his will;
He will [f]destroy mighty men and [g]the holy people.
25 “And through his shrewdness
He will cause deceit to succeed by his [h]influence;
And he will magnify himself in his heart,
And he will [i]destroy many while they are [j]at ease.
He will even [k](B)oppose the Prince of princes,
But he will be broken (C)without [l]human agency.
