New English Translation
21 He left[a] with all he owned. He quickly crossed[b] the Euphrates River[c] and headed for[d] the hill country of Gilead.
22 Three days later Laban discovered Jacob had left.[e] 23 So he took his relatives[f] with him and pursued Jacob[g] for seven days.[h] He caught up with[i] him in the hill country of Gilead.
