66 When day came, the council of the elders of the people gathered together, both the chief priests and the experts in the law.[a] Then[b] they led Jesus[c] away to their council[d] 67 and said, “If[e] you are the Christ,[f] tell us.” But he said to them, “If[g] I tell you, you will not[h] believe, 68 and if[i] I ask you, you will not[j] answer.
