Genesis 1:14-19
English Standard Version
14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for (A)signs and for (B)seasons,[a] and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God (C)made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to (D)rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

New International Version
14 And God said, “Let there be lights(A) in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night,(B) and let them serve as signs(C) to mark sacred times,(D) and days and years,(E) 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.(F) 16 God made two great lights—the greater light(G) to govern(H) the day and the lesser light to govern(I) the night.(J) He also made the stars.(K) 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night,(L) and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.(M) 19 And there was evening, and there was morning(N)—the fourth day.
