30 That very night Belshazzar,(A) king(B) of the Babylonians,[a] was slain,(C) 31 and Darius(D) the Mede(E) took over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two.[b]

Daniel in the Den of Lions

[c]It pleased Darius(F) to appoint 120 satraps(G) to rule throughout the kingdom, with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel.(H) The satraps were made accountable(I) to them so that the king might not suffer loss.

31 And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;

And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.

The Plot Against Daniel

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom; and over these, three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss.
