The Word Became Flesh

1 ^(A)In the beginning was ^(B)the Word, and ^(C)the Word was with God, and ^(D)the Word was God.

^34 (A)A new commandment ^(B)I give to you, ^(C)that you love one another: ^(D)just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. ^35 (E)By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

¹⁰ In this is love, ^(A)not that we have loved God ^(B)but that he loved us and sent his Son to be ^(C)the propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ^12 (D)No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and ^(E)his love is perfected in us.

⁶ And ^(A)this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just ^(B)as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
