37 And of the other side of Jordan of the Reubenites, and of the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh with all instruments of war to fight with, an hundred and twenty thousand.

38 [a]All these men of war [b]that could lead an army, came with [c]upright heart to Hebron to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest of Israel was of one accord to make David King.

39 And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their [d]brethren had prepared for them.

38 All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel.(A) All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king. 39 The men spent three days there with David, eating and drinking,(B) for their families had supplied provisions for them.
