1 Corinthians 1:28-30
The Voice
28 God selected the common and the castoff, whatever lacks status, so He could invalidate the claims of those who think those things are significant. 29 So it makes no sense for any person to boast in God’s presence. 30 Instead, credit God with your new situation: you are united with Jesus the Anointed. He is God’s wisdom for us and more. He is our righteousness and holiness and redemption.

28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not(A)—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him.(B) 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus,(C) who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness,(D) holiness(E) and redemption.(F)
