Who says that you are any better than other people? What do you have that wasn’t given to you? If you were given what you have, why are you bragging as if it weren’t a gift?

You already have what you want! You’ve already become rich! You’ve become kings without us! I wish you really were kings so that we could be kings with you.

As I see it, God has placed us apostles last in line, like people condemned to die. We have become a spectacle for people and angels to look at.

For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive?(A) And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich!(B) You have begun to reign—and that without us! How I wish that you really had begun to reign so that we also might reign with you! For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die(C) in the arena. We have been made a spectacle(D) to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings.
