4 So if you have cases pertaining to this life, do you select those[a] who have no standing(A) in the church to judge? 5 I say this to your shame!(B) Can it be that there is not one wise person among you who is able to arbitrate between his brothers?(C) 6 Instead, believer[b] goes to court against believer, and that before unbelievers!(D)

4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? 5 I say this to shame you.(A) Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers?(B) 6 But instead, one brother(C) takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers!(D)
