1 John 3:6-8
Common English Bible
6 Every person who remains in relationship to him does not sin. Any person who sins has not seen him or known him.
Practicing sin or righteousness
7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you. The person who practices righteousness is righteous, in the same way that Jesus is righteous. 8 The person who practices sin belongs to the devil, because the devil has been sinning since the beginning. God’s Son appeared for this purpose: to destroy the works of the devil.

New International Version
6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning.(A) No one who continues to sin has either seen him(B) or known him.(C)
7 Dear children,(D) do not let anyone lead you astray.(E) The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.(F) 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil,(G) because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God(H) appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.(I)
