23 for you have been (A)born again (B)not of seed which is perishable, but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring (C)word of God. 24 For,

(D)All flesh is like grass,
And all its glory is like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
And the flower falls off,
25 (E)But the word of the Lord endures forever.”

And this is (F)the word which was [a]preached to you.

As Newborn Babes

Therefore, (G)rid yourselves of all [b]malice and all deceit and [c]hypocrisy and [d]envy and all [e](H)slander, (I)and like newborn babies, long for the [f](J)pure [g]milk of the word, so that by it you may (K)grow [h]in respect to salvation, if you have (L)tasted [i](M)the kindness of the Lord.

Therefore, rid yourselves(E) of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander(F) of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk,(G) so that by it you may grow up(H) in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.(I)
