4 And when the chief Shepherd(A) appears, you will receive the unfading crown(B) of glory. 5 In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. All of you clothe yourselves with[a] humility toward one another, because

God resists the proud
but gives grace to the humble.[b](C)

5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves(D) to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility(E) toward one another, because,

“God opposes the proud
    but shows favor to the humble.”[a](F)

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.(G)
