28 Samuel told him, “Yahweh has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today. He has given it to your neighbor who is better than you. 29 In addition, the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind, because he is not a mortal who changes his mind.”
30 Saul replied, “I have sinned! Now please honor me in front of the leaders of my people and in front of Israel. Come back with me, and let me worship Yahweh your Elohim.”

New International Version
28 Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn(A) the kingdom(B) of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors—to one better than you.(C) 29 He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie(D) or change(E) his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”
30 Saul replied, “I have sinned.(F) But please honor(G) me before the elders of my people and before Israel; come back with me, so that I may worship the Lord your God.”
