“The adversaries of the Lord will be broken to pieces;
He will thunder against them in the heavens,
The Lord will judge the ends of the earth;
And He will give strength to His [a]king,
And will exalt the horn (strength) of His anointed.”(A)
11 Elkanah [and his wife Hannah] returned to Ramah to his house. But the child [Samuel] served the Lord [b]under the guidance of Eli the priest.

12 The sons of Eli [Hophni and Phinehas] were [c]worthless (dishonorable, unprincipled) men; they did not know [nor respect] the Lord

The Most High will thunder(B) from heaven;
the Lord will judge(C) the ends of the earth.
11 Then Elkanah went home to Ramah,(F) but the boy ministered(G) before the Lord under Eli the priest.
Eli’s Wicked Sons
12 Eli’s sons were scoundrels; they had no regard(H) for the Lord.
