¹³ Then David and his men, ^(A)about six hundred, rose up and departed from Keilah, and they went ^(B)wherever they could go. When it was reported to Saul that David had escaped from Keilah, he gave up ^[a]the pursuit.

¹³ Then David said to his men, “Each of you strap on his sword.” So each man strapped on his sword. And David also strapped on his sword, and about ^(A)four hundred men went up behind David, while two hundred ^(B)stayed with the baggage.

David’s Victory over the Amalekites

30 Then it happened, when David and his men came to ^(A)Ziklag on the third day, that ^(B)the Amalekites had carried out an attack on the ^[a]Negev and on ^(C)Ziklag, and had ^[b]overthrown Ziklag and burned it with fire;

⁹ So David left, ^(A)he and the six hundred men who were with him, and they came to the brook Besor, where some who were left behind stayed.
