8 They are doing the same thing they have always done. I took them out of Egypt, but they left me and served other gods. They are doing the same to you. 9 So listen to the people and do what they say. But give them a warning. Tell the people what a king will do to them. Tell them how a king rules people.”
10 Those people asked for a king. So Samuel told them everything the Lord said.

8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking(A) me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know(B) what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”
10 Samuel told(C) all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king.
