8 They are doing as they have always done. When I took them out of Egypt, they left me. They served other gods. They are doing the same to you. 9 Now listen to the people. But give them a warning. Tell them what the king who rules over them will do.”
10 Samuel answered those who had asked him for a king. He told them all the words of the Lord.

8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking(A) me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know(B) what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”
10 Samuel told(C) all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king.
