8 Ever since I brought them from Egypt they have continually forsaken me and followed other gods. And now they are giving you the same treatment. 9 Do as they ask, but warn them about what it will be like to have a king!”
10 So Samuel told the people what the Lord had said:

8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking(A) me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know(B) what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”
10 Samuel told(C) all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king.
